Natural Remedies for Age Spots (DIY Beauty Treatments)

During my first pregnancy I started noticing age spots. It’s common during pregnancy and it often goes away. Most of mine did, but there are two stubborn ones left over!

The first word of advice is to avoid the sun, especially during pregnancy when your hormones are going wild and your skin is more susceptible to getting age spots.

Having said that, I was pretty religious about avoiding the sun during pregnancy, and I still am. Even after all my precautions, which included wearing a SPF 30 daily moisturizer even in the winter, I still got those pesky brown spots!

So, now what?

There are expensive treatments like photo-facials and chemical peels but we can save money and chemical exposure with natural remedies we can make at home.

Here are a few recipes for you to try at home.

1) Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with onion juice.

– Chop the onion in small pieced and push through a strainer to get the juice.

– Combine equal parts Vinegar and Onion juice.

– Dab a cotton ball in the mixture and apply it to your age/sun spots

– Leave it on the skin for at least 30 minutes

– Do this once a day for 6 weeks.

2) Aloe Vera

– Apply the juice or gel to the spots and leave on for 45 minutes.

– Do this twice a day for a month.

3) Apply Castor Oil on the spots in the morning and evening.

I have been using Made from Earth products for many years. I am in my late fifties and no wrinkles yet. Yes, many factors contribute to healthy skin such as using sun block, a healthy diet and exercise. But their Olive Night Cream definitely helped to lighten age spots. You can spend a lot more on other miracle cream. But this is a great product for a reasonable price. I use their Vitamin Moisturizer in the winter. This cream has worked well for me over the years.
